Politics: So apparently the New York Times isn't enjoying the convention?

By DAN CALABRESE - NYT editors, Obama talking points in hand, explain that Tampa's just not doing it for them

Poor dears. It can't be easy to have to sit there in the comfort of your blue cocoon digs and watch as these savages shamelessly posit notions that everyone in the Progressive Hivemind knows are refuge of simpletons, bitter clingers and KKK grand wizards.

So much horrid TV. When does NewsHour start, Muffy?

My favorite running theme here is how Republicans are unfairly picking on Obama for his own words and actions. No, he didn't really diss the role of business owners in making their ventures successful. He was just taken out of context. No, he didn't really gut the welfare work requirements. He just had Kathleen Sebilius issue a memo that accomplished it through administrative-type language that would bore anyone to tears before they got past the first paragraph.

And of course, Times editors are scandalized because Mitt Romney hasn't provided every painstaking detail for how he's going to eliminate Obama's deficit and fix his ridiculous tax code (although between him and Ryan, they've provided an awful lot). What exactly is the Obama team's plan to do any of this? Oh, right. They don't have one. They just don't like Ryan's.

Look, I don't begrudge the Times its identity as a liberal newspaper. CainTV is a conservative web site. We've never pretended to be anything else. But when the nation's "paper of record" really can't do any better than to re-write Obama campaign press releases and call it an editorial, why would they think their decline has any hope of ever being reversed?
