By ROBERT LAURIE - Blistering new campaign commercial paints President as a failure

Well, that didn't take long.  In a story we first discussed yesterday, Barack Obama told Univision interviewers that "The most important lesson I've learned is that you can't change Washington from the inside. You can only change it from the outside."

The Romney campaign wasted no time pouncing on the remarks, tearing into the President at a campaign rally in Sarasota FL.

“He said he can only change it from the outside. Well, we’re going to give him that chance in November," Romney said. "His slogan was ‘Yes we can.’ His slogan is now ‘No, I can’t.’ He went from the president of change to the president who can’t get change.”

Overnight, the footage made it into a new Romney advertisement, entitled "By His Own Admission."

Ouch. Quick, to the point, and effective.

Isn't it nice to see the Romney people get tough once in a while?

UPDATE: A reader pointed out that this is not, in fact an ad from the Romney campaign but, in fact, it originated with the RNC.  A minor point, but I apologize for any confusion.
